Overview of the Community Outreach Supervisor, LCSW

The Community Outreach Supervisor, LCSW will oversee daily operations for Wayspring’s community outreach program in the assigned market. The Community Outreach Supervisor, LCSW will report directly to the Vice President of Operations and collaborate daily with Wayspring clinical and member operations teams for seamless care coordination for Wayspring members. This role will work directly and indirectly with members providing clinical direction to Community Outreach Specialist(s) and provide individual therapeutic and intervention services to Wayspring members.

This role requires a mission-driven LCSW with a heart and passion for making an impact. This individual should desire human interaction and have a hunger for immersing themselves in the community they serve. The ideal candidate will have experience working with vulnerable populations who may be disengaged from healthcare and live a more transient lifestyle. If a desk job lights your fire, this role won’t be a match.

Responsibilities of the Community Outreach Supervisor, LCSW

Community Outreach Duties

  • Provides direct community-based therapy and therapeutic intervention services for qualified members, including case consultation and coordination, advocacy and referrals.
  • Oversees daily operations for Waypsring’s community outreach program under the supervision of the Vice President of Operations.
  • Ingrains themselves’ within the community to build relationships and provide therapy services to Wayspring members, requiring daily travel to member’s residences, community shelters, sober living houses, treatment facilities, hospitals and other various community organizations within an assigned region.
  • Ensures seamless care coordination for Wayspring members with internal Wayspring clinical and member operation teams.
  • Implements Wayspring community outreach program components, participates in developing and implementing program outcomes and evaluations in partnership with the Vice President of Operations.
  • Maintains clinical and administrative documentation requirements within Wayspring designated systems.

Clinical Guidance Duties

  • Establishes and implements procedures to monitor Wayspring community outreach workflows.
  • Provides support and direction to community outreach specialist(s), as it relates to clinical evaluations and case consultations.
  • Provides indirect guidance on community intervention services for qualified members, including Wayspring intervention services, establishing and maintaining care plans, discharge planning services and more. Promotes a healthy team approach to the service delivery system, manages conflicts, interpret administrative guidelines, and implements directives in a timely professional manner.

Requirements & Preferred Qualifications

  • Doctoral or master’s degree in social work from an accredited college or university
  • At least three (3) years of clinical experience working within the addiction, recovery OR substance use disorder space.
  • Previous experience in providing community support services to adults with SPMI, including those with co-occurring substance use disorders.
  • At least two (2) years of previous staff management or team lead experience is required.
  • CPR and First Aid Certification
  • Valid driver's license in good standing with at least three (3) years minimum continuous driving experience with no serious traffic infractions.
  • The ideal candidate will be a highly personable professional with excellent communication skills. The candidate will also have experience working with vulnerable populations who may be disengaged from healthcare and live a more transient lifestyle.
