Overview of the Community Based Therapist
As a Community Based Therapist, you will play a pivotal role in empowering vulnerable and underserved community members through meaningful outreach and personalized support. The Community Based Therapist will oversee daily operations for Wayspring’s community outreach program in the assigned region, working closely with our passionate clinical and member operations teams to ensure seamless care coordination for those we serve. In this role, you will have the unique opportunity to provide clinical direction to Community Outreach Specialists and offer individual therapeutic services to Wayspring members, directly impacting their journey toward healing and empowerment.

Responsibilities of the Community Based Therapist
- Provide direct therapy in the community and therapeutic intervention services to qualified members, offering case consultation, advocacy, and referrals to ensure their needs are met.
- Immerse yourself within the community, building strong, trusting relationships with members by delivering therapy services at their residences, community shelters, sober living houses, treatment facilities, hospitals, and other community organizations in your assigned region.
- Work collaboratively with internal Wayspring clinical and member operations teams to ensure seamless care coordination, providing members with the best possible support at every stage of their journey.
- Help shape and implement program components, outcomes, and evaluations in partnership with the Vice President of Operations to ensure we continue to meet the evolving needs of our community.
- Maintain all clinical and administrative documentation within Wayspring’s designated systems, ensuring compliance with all regulatory and organizational standards.
Leadership Duties
- Provide guidance and support to Community Outreach Specialists, offering clinical direction on case consultations and evaluations to ensure high-quality care for our members.
- Lead the daily operations of Wayspring’s community outreach program under the guidance of the Vice President of Operations, ensuring that every member receives the support they deserve.
- Establish and implement effective procedures to monitor the performance of Wayspring’s community outreach program, ensuring that the program is responsive and impactful.
- Offer indirect leadership on community intervention services for qualified members, supporting the development and maintenance of care plans, discharge planning, and more.
- Foster a collaborative and healthy team environment, addressing challenges, promoting teamwork, and implementing administrative guidelines with professionalism and empathy.
Requirements & Preferred Qualifications
- Open to a variety of licenses and certifications: LMSW, LCSW, CADC, CAADC, etc.)
- Experience working within the addiction, recovery OR substance use disorder space.
- Previous experience in providing community support services to adults with SPMI, including those with co-occurring substance use disorders.
- CPR and First Aid Certification
- Valid driver's license in good standing with at least three (3) years minimum continuous driving experience with no serious traffic infractions.
- The ideal candidate will be a highly personable professional with excellent communication skills. The candidate will also have experience working with vulnerable populations who may be disengaged from healthcare and live a more transient lifestyle.
